I want to change to .org site. How do I know if I have the tech ability?
-
I need to know the data is backed up before I change to .org, also how will I know if I can manage the technical side of the .org site? The .com site is pretty easy, although I edit in visual, not HTML.
I will upgrade today if I feel it is manageable. I mainly want to upgrade so I can add a printer friendly version plug in
Thanks, Angela Jansz

It’s hard to say without trying it first. We take care of most of the management issues on our end, which you’ll need to deal with if you move to a self-hosted version. We also can’t provide support for self-hosted installations.
You might want to just try it. You’re always welcome to come back if you want to.

Would VIP allow me to use plugins, but basically function the same as .org?
Theres not a lot extra I need to do with the site
Its not really the self hosting I need, I just need a few extras -
Yes, you could essentially get the same level of service and all of the features of a self-hosted WordPress.org blog with a VIP hosting plan.
