I want to choose my own advertisers

  • Unknown's avatar

I have been considering reaching out to companies that cater to bird and parrot owners to see if they would like to advertise on my blog. I don’t want any advertising that is not 100% relevant to my blog – which is all about birds and parrots. How do I accomplish this? Also could you please cancel my request to activate WordAds on my blog – I didn’t realize the advertising would be so general and don’t want it to automatically launch on my site and confuse my fans. Thanks.

  • Hi Shannon,

I’ll take care of your WordAds application for you.

We don’t allow outside advertising on WordPress.com—only what we add onto sites without the No Ads upgrade or through the WordAds program. This enables us to provide the services we offer either free or at a relatively low price for upgrades. We have a bit more on our support documentation about our advertising policy.

If you have any questions or need anything else, please let me know. Thanks!

Ok, thanks! Is there any way to target WordAds to be specific to my audience – if it could work to display pet ads, then I’d be open to trying it out. Thanks!

  • Howdy,

I’m going to ask our WordAds team to respond to that question and follow-up with you in more detail. They’ll respond via e-mail in a short bit.

    Cheers!
