  I have not been able to get a website published and I do not want to keep paying for something I can’t use.

  I don’t have a site with WordPress.com yet

  Hi there,

  Prior to closing your WordPress.com account, you must cancel any active WordPress.com plans or upgrades from the Purchases section of your account.

  By following the directions on your Account Settings page (https://wordpress.com/me/account), you can permanently close your WordPress.com account.

  Please note that you will lose all the sites you own and their contents when you close your account. Within a few weeks, the data will be removed entirely from the system, and at this point, this cannot be undone.
