The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi:
I have a few questions for the sales dept.
Is there a phone number i can reach someone with ? -
No, there is no sales department as such and there is no phone support. Your best bet is to post your question here, without any private data like credit card numbers, and wait for a volunteer or staffer to answer it.

Hi and thanks.
If I upgrade to the $99.00 a month; will my site be a web site?
and will I have a blogg site as well? -
Your site NOW is a web site – for free – no upgrade – it just looks like a blog with the freshest new stuff at the top of the front page –
You can use more pages if you want for a more traditional look – but again no upgrade required
-
Thanks:
I have a domain name.
If I upgrade and use this; will the $99.00 stay that price for a bit?
also:
is it possible to pay for the mapping and not the bundle forr $99.00 so I can have the web address say http://www.godsfoodheals.com? -
If you have your own domain name you just need to buy the Domain Mapping $ 13.– / year – no need to buy the bundle – only buy the bundle if you need enough of the parts to save some money

If you have or want to use email with your custom domain name see below on how to keep the email working when you map your domain name
http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/add-email/
Also make sure you read the terms of service on what you can and can’t do here – you can’t do e-commerce here for instance or sell your own ads
-
Thanks!
Oh boy I am not sure which way to go?
I want to blog plus add my own web address, add pictures and video and not pay too much every year.
I am used to having a photography web site but need to start blogging every day and still have the feel of it looking like a website.
Thanks so much for all your help.
How do I know which best theme will work best for me without having to pay for each one to see the full effects?
Your tours are nice but hard to really connect with.I see now without paying for the opt out of adds; your adds will still be on my blog.
LOVE word press by the way :)
ANY more suggestions?? -
Put a bit more real looking content on your current blog – then go through the themes – the live preview works better if you have content that you will be using as the live preview will try and put your current blog content into the preview you can see –
There are some filters you can use to sort the themes but I never had much luck with the filters – my “brute force” method was to put them in alpha sort mode and just page down and look at the themes – many will go away at first glance – even the premium themes can be previewed – premium themes also have a 30 day refund policy so if you don’t like it you can give it back
PS – not my ads – WordPress.COM ads – I don’t work for WordPress.COM
Good luck

Don’t buy too many upgrades when you’re first starting out. You don’t know what you’re paying for. The Domain Mapping is always a good idea, though. I suggest using YouTube to upload your videos, and then you can embed them here free, but you ALSO get access to the whole YouTube community.

Thanks so much:
I suppose the $99.00 a year is the best way to go.
I will add more content so I can make a better theme choice.
I see once I add the items up seperatly; I’m not getting as good a deal.
Hense the bundle price :) -
Now that’s some good info :)
I have 2 domain addresses.
godsfoodheals.com and gods.food.heals.com
Can I pay for 2 and have the same pages up for both?
Thanks for your help!! -
You can have more than one domain name mapped to a single blog – but only one name can be Primary (displayed in the visitors browser) – the second name looks like a sub-domain – should be OK but we might want to ask the staff if both a domain name AND a sub-domain can be mapped to the same blog
I will flag this for the staff to review your domain question

-
Thanks I really appriciate that.
I just bought the domain mapping.
Does it take a little time for the change to take affect?
Thanks so much for your help :) -
Yes, it generally takes a few hours, and you will be the last to see it; it works for everyone else first.
-
Did you also change your name servers at your domain registrar also?
See the link above for more info on mapping an existing domain name
Domain helper shows you have the domain mapping in place but the name servers still set to WORLDNIC.COM
Changes start after a few hours but can take 24 to 72 hours for changes to reach the far corners of the internet

Thanks!
Good to know.
I will look for the change tomorrow.
You ALL have been a REAL HELP tonight :) -
You be welcome
PS – remember to double check the name server settings – nothing happens until they are also correct
