I want to create a multilingual website-HOW TO & PAYMENT PLANS

    Hi there,

    I want to create a multilingual website (English, Greek, German) but I am confused on how to go about it and what I would need to pay!!
    I merely want to give my visitors the option to choose one of the 3 languages at the top right hand corner as most sites do.
    I checked support prior to asking here, but it wasn’t clear. It just confused me more to be honest as the example of having the language option on the top right hand corner said that you have to have 2 or more separate site which means paying differently for each!!! Is that the case? If yes that is too much for me.
    Any other options that look professional (I don’t like the option of having the translation of a second or third language under each post)?
    Please help as I need to decide whether I will use wordpress.com after all…

    To create a multi-lingual site the way that you would like, you will need to purchase a Business or eCommerce site plan:

    This will allow you to install plugins for your site. Plugins give you a number of translation options. You can see a few here:

    I have some more questions:
    Do I pay for the website only once or separately for each language option?
    The link you share shows how to add the plug in for the WordPress.org. Is it the same for WordPress.com?

    Hi there,

    WordPress.com does not have multilingual capabilities built in, so the bet way to add this functionality is with a “multilingual plugin” as staff-ozmodiar mentions above.

    To add a plugin on WordPress.com requires the Business (or higher) plan, but this plan will give your site the same capabilities as a .org site, to upload any theme or plugin “designed for WordPress” so yes with that upgrade you can use .org plugins without issue.
