I want to create a website to support my blog and create a different name that is easier to search.

The name is too cumbersome. I would like it to be a resource for other popular blogs and sites that report on youth sports and fitness. I have asked some partners and colleagues for name suggestions but need to know how to make my blog and site more impactful. Thank you!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi Rick,
This is great. Can you be a little more specific about how you want to make your site more impactful? Are you looking into getting more traffic?
SEO is great on WordPress.com without your having to do anything special other than post. The longer your blog exists, the more you post, and the more people who visit it, the higher it should climb in Google’s rankings.
We have some additional tips on traffic building here:

Thank you for your reply. I would like to actually have a website that the Forum is a link on. I would like to share other blogs (with author permission) to start building a resource for information on youth sports and fitness topics. I would invite guest blogs and categorize blogs by topic on the site.

Can you tell me more about this? I’m not sure what this means.

You can add a Links widget to your sidebar to add the links to the blogs that you want to share:

You can do this by adding users to your blog. Take a look at the user roles here:

We have live chat, but currently that is only guaranteed for WordPress.com Business users. Sometimes if we have Happiness Engineers available, they are ope to Premium users as well.
If they are ready you’ll see it in the bottom right hand corner of your WP Admin Dashboard.
If it’s not showing up, please be more specific and I’d be happy to see what I can do.

Thanks, as always, you have been great. My vision is that there is a regular web page on which my blogs appear as well as links to the others I asked about. Is that doable? From what I see it is a blog page with a web address.
-
Sure! So from what I’m reading you want to create a static Front page with links on that page.
In order to do this you can create this Static Front Page by going to Pages > Add new in your Dashboard. This is a static page that would be the page your readers view the minute they visit your site.
Then go to Settings > Reading in your Dashboard. At the top where it says Front Page displays: select a static page and set the page you just created as your Front Page. If you don’t want a Posts page, you can leave that blank.
Finally, if you want to create a Custom Menu you can by going to Appearance > Menus in your Dashboard. Please view the link for further instructions.
