I want to delete a free Word Press website I built

  • Unknown's avatar

When I went to my counseling wordpress website, I noticed my images were replaced with bizarre photos and ad popups were all over it. I DO NOT want any visitors to see this! So I deleted my pages for now, and was going to delete my site as I built a new beautiful website on Squarespace. I was told to redirect my WordPress website as opposed to delete it. I have my art business website successfully on WordPress as well and DO NOT want anything to happen to that active site if I delete my counseling WP site. Any suggestions on how to terminate my WP website, but not my WP account? thank you.

  • Hi there,

Deleting a WordPress.com site will not terminate your account and it will not affect other WordPress.com site owned by the same account as well.

If you’re unsure whether to delete the site, you can set it to private. See how to do it here.

To delete a site, follow the steps in this document.

And you may want to take note on this warning before deleting a site:

Deleting a site permanently removes it and you’ll never be able to re-use its WordPress.com address (such as yourgroovysite.wordpress.com).
