    I WANT TO DISCONNECT AND MIGRATE TO WORDPRESS.ORG. INSTRUCTIONS IN FORUMS DON’T WORK BECAUSE I DO NOT SEEM TO HAVE OPTIONS TO DO SO. PLEASE CONTACT ME ASAP. I WAS A PREMIUM BUSINESS CUSTOMER WHO REALIZED THE WORDPRESS.COM CANNOT HANDLE CUSTOM THEMES, AS PREVIOUSLY CONFIRMED TO ME. NO SUPPORT HAS BEEN GIVEN TO HELP ME TRANSITION TO WORDPRESS.ORG.

    Do you already have content here you’re trying to move? If so, have you tried exporting your content using these instructions: https://en.support.wordpress.com/export/#export-your-content-to-another-blog-or-platform

    Hi there,

    Thanks for the suggestion. I’m not trying to move content. I literally want to delete my wordpress.com account. Here’s what’s happened to date:

    1) I registered for the personal plan
    2) After speaking with a rep, he advised to go with the business plan $300, to support and install a custom theme
    3) Later, the reason why my domain wasn’t working with wordpress.com was because it wasn’t a parent domain, rather a sub-domain of another I had previously purchased
    4) Bought another url on the adviser of a wordpress.com rep
    5) Linked the account and shared the requirement stats for the hosting required to use my custom theme. I even shared with him link to the theme itself and was provided confirmation and reassurance that it would work
    6) After numerous attempts at uploading the theme, to no avail, the rep said that I should go to wordpress.org self-hosting. This completely refutes the advice previously provided and confirms that all the time and money spent was a complete waste.
    7) Contacted GoDaddy for hosting with WordPress. Set everything up, except when I go to my wp-admin page, it redirects me to wordpress.com.
    8) I realize that I CANNOT even delete my account. I am confused as to why even though I am told that I cannot use wordpress.com, I’m redirected to it with no other means to proceed further.

    I am confused, disappointed, unsatisfied, and lacking support to upload a simple custom theme. I have paid a premium to only end up slightly more confused than I was before even starting this project. Of course, after being refunded wordprss.com, now I don’t even have support from the same reps that put me in this mess in the first place.

    Please help as GoDaddy is very confused as to why this is going on as well.

    Sorry for the delayed response, and that no one else has jumped in here. What is the address of the site you’re trying to use that keeps directing back to WordPress? It sounds like a DNS issue.
