I want to delete my site and close my account. It says I need to contact support, but then it sends me to the forum. Help!!!

Hi, there, I thought I was responding to someone else who got billed. my apologies. in your case however You can permanently close your WordPress.com account from the bottom of your Account Settings screen:

Hi, and thanks. I did try that, and also settings>delete site. But neither option allows me to do that, instead they say, “To delete this site, you’ll need to contact our support team. Deletion can not be undone, and will remove all content, contributors, domains, themes and upgrades from this site.”
Then there’s a contact support button, which sends me to a page to post my question on this site. Bit of a loop, I’m afraid. :)

I have screenshots, but seems like you can’t add them here. Every support page I go to for wordpress.com sends me back to the forum.

I did trash all pages and posts and make it a private site, and enabled maintenance mode with a link to our regular site. So I guess that will take care of it, thanks for your help.
