I want to delete my sites, but cannot cancel ‘active paid upgrades’.
-
When I want to delete my site I get the following notification:
Paid Upgrades
You have active paid upgrades on your site. Please cancel your upgrades prior to deleting your site. But I cannot see anything when I do ‘Manage Purchases’. Can you help me delete my site?
Thank you! -
Hello there,
Many thanks for reaching out.
Can you confirm the site that you’re looking to delete please?
It could be the case that if any purchases were made for the site, they may have been made by another admin on the site.
I hope this helps thus far.

Thanks for your reply!
I want to delete the sesvanderhave.blog site.
I don’t think that the purchases were made by another admin on the site. But it would be wonderful if you could look into it and help me delete the site in the right way.
Thank you for your assistance! -
Hi there,
There is a different owner of the blog and the upgrades. You will need to reach out to them and have them cancel the upgrades if you want the site deleted.
Hope that helps.
Thanks,

Thank you for your help.
I’ve contacted Kurt Bellen, who is one of the other admins of the site, but he didn’t purchase the Paid Active Upgrades either.
The other Admin with the account of Mieke Haijen (e-mail address of Barbara Kempeneers) is someone who no longer works at our company, so we cannot access that admin account.
How should we proceed to delete the site anyway? -
Hello there,
Ideally, you need to recover the account that controls those upgrades.
If a purchase was made with a card that you own, it would be possible to conduct an account recovery with the help of a transaction ID.
A transaction ID would be present on the statement of the card used.
Please see more on account recovery here: https://wordpress.com/support/account-recovery/
I hope this helps!
