I want to diable comments in chateau

Help. I want to disable comments in Chateau. The box for disable does not appear anywhere? I have tried the screen display and it is not there either.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I read it and went through the steps carefully. The “leave” a comment prompt just will not disappear and I never find a box “disable” comments.

If you check my post again, you’ll see that
a) it explains how you make the Discussion box show up,
b) it provides two faster options (which means you don’t really need the Discussion box),
c) it makes a distinction between posts and pages: pages accept only comments, but posts accept comments as well as pingbacks. You used one of the faster options successfully (there’s no comment field on your post anymore) but you missed point #c: you need to disable pingbacks too.
So, sorry my post isn’t clear enough re this, and thanks for the feedback – I’ll see what I can do to make the post clearer. In the meantime you go to Posts > All Posts, click Quick Edit, uncheck “Allow Pings”, click Update. -
Thanks for having taken the trouble to answer. I guess I can disable the ability to comment but I cannot make the “leave a comment” tab invisible.

Once you disable pings as explained above, “leave a comment” will automatically turn to “comments off”.

I really have no buttons to “disable” pings or comments. Even if I do not check the boxes–the field “leave comment” is still there.
Maybe Chateau has an issue in this regard.
Otherwise I have not been able to fathom how to get the discussion box to appear as something separate (as you mention)–from the discussion function under settings.

Chateau has no issue. As I already said, go to Posts > All Posts, click Quick Edit under the post title and make sure “Allow Comments” as well as “Allow Pings” are unchecked.
