I want to get on your list of bloggers and don't know how.
-
I’m a new blogger. I noticed, when poking around the word press site that there are listings of other bloggers according to what they do. I can’t find that list again and want to know how to put my blog into the appropriate place.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
I’m not quite sure what list you’re talking about! Are you talking about the “About Us” on the Automattic page?
If that’s what you’re talking about, these are profiles of all the folks who work at Automattic (the people who support WordPress.com) and you can always apply to work here. We’re hiring!
If you’re talking about another place, let me know and I’ll be happy to give you some information about it.

Thank you for responding. I am not interested in the automattic venue. I am a new blogger who had someone set up a blogsite for me. I noticed, someplace on the WordPress site that there are listings of folks who write blogs in different categories, like Art, Music, etc. I am interested in listing my blog in such a place, but being fairly unfamiliar with the program, am trying to learn how to navigate. Can you assist me with this? Thanks in advance, Ina

Heya,
Were you talking about this section of the WordPress.com Reader?
https://wordpress.com/#!/read/recommendations/
If so, I’ve actually had to reach out to one of our other departments to find out how users get added to those various recommended sections. As soon as I have an answer I’ll let you know!

I just heard back from that other department which adds new blogs to the recommended blog list on a regular basis.
They provided these two main suggestions for anyone who would like to be added to the list:
1. Make sure that you blog is representative of the category which you want it included with. So if you want your blog in with the Cooking category, make sure it’s a great cooking blog, not a little bit about cooking but a lot about your car or your kids or your job, etc. Cooking.
2. Take a look at our help article titled “So You Want To Be Freshly Pressed”:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/freshly-pressed/
While not every post needs to be up to “Freshly Pressed” standards, this will help you know what we are generally looking for in an outstanding blog! :)

Thanks, I’ll look into it as soon as I have some time. Would it be better to wait until I have more than 2 posts before i sign up? I haven’t had a chance to work on the blog in recent days but hope to get to it soon.

You will indeed need to keep working on your site, make sure that you have quality original content, and a good site design. The article which I linked you to will provide the information which you’re looking for

Okay, I will work on my site but I’m tied up for most of this week. I’ll read the info you pointed me to and I’ve ordered a couple of books on Word Press to help me understand it better so I can improve my site, but I have some medical issues to deal with this week so won’t have much time until the weekend. Thanks.
