I want to have a product catalogue page

I want a template that allows me to create a product catalogue page with products in grid format and if I select one product, it opens another page with multiple picture and further info. I don’t need an eCommerce setup at this stage as I will sell only very occasionally and contact needs to be over email and phone. Thank you in advance

Hi there, so not an e-commerce store, but a site with a grid of pages showing thumbnails, which a person can open to view more, correct?
You could do this with posts (great option if you want to announce you’re selling something — then you could list those items in a category) a portfolio (great option for art) or with pages with child pages.
You could also just use blocks to add images in a grid, then link to individual pages for each product.
If you need more help, could you send a link to the site, or let us know which option appeals most to you? We can go from there.

Thank you for your response. This is a Wordpres site that I would like to replicate where I can show items and when one is selected. more photos and details can be shown.

Whichever option that @supernovia mentioned will work for this if you do not want to actually sell anything online. For occasional sells, you will be able to use Simple Payments Block:

I don’t want to do posts or blogs. I need to be able to create a page, just like this one, where I can display a number of items and if someone want to know more, they can select on for more photos and details. Just this:

It does not matter if you add pages or posts but what you add to them.
You can create a blank page and add images to a grid, you can use columns for that:https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/columns-block/
You’ll also want to create a separate page for each product. This is the page that the image will link to.

Thank you. I now know it can be done. My challenge is that I do not know which menu items to select to make this happen. Does this come under Design, Customise, Themes? I have tried all menu options to make this happen. I have even tried 3 different web themes to see if that made a difference.
Can you please list me the steps including menu selections to create that blank page with grid areas to load product to.

You’ll want to go to My Site>Site>Pages and
Add New Pagethere. You’ll be able to choose between many templates or create a blank one.If you go with the blank one, you can then add Columns Block, choose the number of columns you want to display, and keep adding new blocks into that one.
