I want to make the comment sections on my site disappear

  I am not able to erase/eliminate/disable the comment sections.

  I unchecked the top three boxes in the discussion settings

  Discussion settings is where you set up defaults for comments.

  We can also override the default settings and enable or disable future comments on any individual post or page.

  Note: By default, new blogs on WordPress.com will have the Discussion hidden.   it seems like quick edit allows you to remove the comment section for pages. thanks!
