I want to monetise my blog

I am trying to find ways to monetise my blog site, as I am spending a lot of time doing my blog/food writing/visits etc. I registered the domain last night (www.belfastfoodman.com @ a cost of £18, ps I did it on 25th January 2015 how come it will be renewed on 25th December 2015-after only 11 months not 12?)
thats not my main question, which is how can I monetise this blog. I am looking at http://www.chitika.com/. They are asking me to log onto my WP admin panel and upload the plugin. Im confused as WP.com dont have this panel and when I look at WP.org I cant see the add new plugin. Please can you help and perhaps give me other ways to monetise.I eagerly await your response.

That is due to the auto-renewal. We renew one month in advance in case there are any issues with your credit card. If your domain reaches expiration and it is not renewed there’s a chance that it could be bought in an auction and you would lose the domain, which is why we do this one month in advance.
As for getting 11months instead of 12, you would still get 12 months. The expiration date is still at the 12 month mark.

Currently you do not have a self-hosted, WordPress.org site. You have a WordPress.com site. To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities. At WordPress.com, we provide hosting, support, and tons of features for blogs. Users also have the option to purchase a variety of upgrades to customize the look and feel of their blog. WordPress.org is a software for self-hosted sites. With WordPress.org, users are provided access to all backend files and can upload custom themes and plugins.
