How can I start a self hosted blog with a (DOT) com so that I can start making some money?
Hi. I have a weight loss blog that I would like to monetize. I am thinking of using Host Gater. How can I go about getting a domain name from Host Gater and at the same time transferring my blog as well as allowing old readers to automatically find my blog?

You cannot self host a free hosted WordPress.COM blog like this one http://weightchangers.wordpress.com/ as it and each and every WordPress.com blog is free hosted right here on this multiuser blogging platform.

There is only one advertising program called WordAds at WordPress.com and it’s for blogs on their own domains. Aside from a blog being accepted into WordAds http://www.wordads.co/ no blogger initiated advertising, retailing or reselling the work or products created or services provided by anyone other than yourself is allowed on free hosted wordpress.com blogs. E-commerce transactions via shopping carts and the like cannot be conducted on free blogs from and being free hosted by WordPress.com. Paid content and/or sponsored content is not allowed.
