I want to move a domain name that I already own, but not until my word press website is built.

    Yes, I’m building a new website using Word Press. I already have a website and I’m going to move my domain name to my new Word Press site when it’s built, but until it’s built I need to keep my current website up. What do I need to do?

    Hi there, no problem. You’re welcome to create your new site with us before pointing the domain here. That way your current site can stay “live” until your new one is ready.

    I do recommend getting a plan earlier on if you’ll need it, since they have other features you might find useful, including direct support:
    https://wordpress.com/plans

    Then just avoid using the domain options until you’re ready, and then you can map or transfer the domain.
