I want to move blog to WP.org from WP.com with bluehost hosting.

I did purchase a domain name just a couple of weeks ago. I am a tech newbie and feel lost here. Bluehost says I need to contact my current registrar (not sure what the difference is between purchasing and registering a domain is or if the terms are interchangable-whatever I did, I did it through WordPress) and unlock the domain, disable whatever privacy there is attached to it, obtain the EPP code and get some confirmation code to “point” the DNS to Bluehost. HELP! Any help with this is appreciated but please try to limit the computerize or at least explain it because although I get around a computer pretty well, this is a whole other animal.

Thank you for your response! When I go to that page I have several options to choose from and there are two that potentially describe what I want to do; 1) Transfer ownership to another registrar, or; 2) Change web hosts. I am guessing it would be changing web hosts, but as I stated, I am a newbie and have zero to very little tech knowledge and this is my first time. What does this sound like to you?

2) Change the web hosts – which is changing where the name servers point – quickest and easiest – and since you bought your domain name less than 60 days ago you can’t transfer the registration to another Registrar – it is an ICAN (internet) anti-fraud thing

Okay, I got it unlocked. But, I also need to disable privacy, obtain EPP code and DNS to Bluehost. With the page I am on, I am not sure what else I need to do. It says domain unlocked, and I see under the heading of domain enhancements, it says Privacy: On but when I click on “Manage” I just get sent to a page that really does nothing other than list my domain name, nothing about privacy. There is a dropdown “tools” menu which gives the following selections: “customize my domains grid”, “DNS manager”, “Off-site DNS”, or “Exportable lists”. I don’t even know what DNS means. Does any of these sound like anything I would use to take off the privacy settings?

What does this mean with the unable to change registrars-I can’t change my hosting to Bluehost? What are the options? Mainly, I just want to be able to have them host a wordpress.org blog and be able to have ads and be able to sell ebooks, etc and eventually some physical items from the blog.

I have disabled Private Registration on your domain.
You should be able to transfer it without issue following this guide: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/transfer-domain-registration/
