If your existing site is using WordPress you can start by using the export feature to create a file that you can then use to import your content to a WordPress.com site.
You will find the export function under Dashboard >> Tools >> Export.
The result will be a file that you download and save for importing into your WordPress.com site.
Go to the admin of your WordPress.com site and find the Tools >> Import section.
Follow the instructions and all the HTML for your pages and Posts will be imported.
However, the image links will still refer to your original site so you will need to manually add your images end other media to your new WordPress.com site.
I hope that’s enough to get you started. -
Yes, just what I needed. When I get it all moved over then I need to get pointers changed to the new site don’t I?

I’m not sure exactly what you mean by pointers but yes when your site is set up on WordPress.com you will need to point your domain at it instead of your old site.
To use a domain of your own, rather than your WordPress domain you will need a paid plan.
Then you go to Domains and work through the process of adding your domain to your website.
This is relatively easy to achieve but you will need access to the DNS zone of your domain or contact the folk that handle your domain etc.
You can read more about it here:
