I want to restore the about space to type in about me. How do I do that?

  Can you locate the page here? Dashboard > Pages > All Pages?

  You can look in the last autosave for Pages » Page Revisions

  http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/page-revisions/#restoring-revisions

  If you don’t find the page then it could be in your Trash.
  http://en.support.wordpress.com/trash/ Provided you did not permanently delete it then restoration is possible.
