  I have the domain bought in godaddy and i was wondering what perks do i get by transferring it to wordpress.

  How long ago did you buy the domain? A Domain can’t be transferred here (or anywhere else for that matter) until you’ve owned it for 60 days. You could create a site here at WordPress.com and with a paid plan transfer (if eligible) or map your domain to that site. The perks are that you’ll be hosted at a managed environment where you don’t have to worry about updates and security.
