I want to sell products using the domain I registered with WordPress. How can I?

  Howdy WordPress. I intend to use my site as a store in addition to a blog. Does WordPress support this kind of expansion? If not, what are my options? Thanks, Dorraine

  While you can sell your work on your blog, no blogger initiated advertising, retailing, or reselling of work created or services provided by other people is allowed on WordPress.com.

  If you require e-commerce/shopping cart functionality beyond this, you might be interested in a self-hosted (WordPress.org) installation. There are no restrictions on e-commerce if you set up a self-hosted WordPress.org blog instead of a WordPress.com blog, but there are some added responsibilities.

  Thanks. Just to clarify, I can set up a self-hosted installation OR utilize recommended/not recommended hosting? Or, I would have to do both – set up a self-hosted installation and then choose a hosting service that suits me? Could I also transfer the domain to a different registrant if I found one that did support ecommerce? Thanks again.

  You would have to do both. WordPress.org is just software, it needs to be installed on a hosting provider.

  You are welcome to keep your domain with us and update the nameservers to point to another hosting provider by following this guide:

  After 60 days from the date of purchase or registrant contact information change, you may also transfer your domain to another registrar.
