i want to start again!!

  all i want to do is create a very simple holding page, with an image, a paragraph of text and a couple of links. i cannot seem to find a template that allows me to do this!! i will come back later and add other content but for now i just want one page!

  i have tried various themes but can’t seem to get the page right – i have pointed my own domain, http://www.stephenshiell.co.uk – to my wordpress site – http://www.stephenshiell.wordpress.co.uk – but I get a page not found link on the homepage.

  please help, i thought this would be so simple!

  Hi Stephen,

  A page like the one you describe can be created by setting up a static front page on your blog. (If the static front page is not set up correctly, you may get a Page Not Found error when you visit your blog.)

  It looks like you figured this out and have it set up on your blog now, but please let me know if you have any other questions about it!

  Also, I just wanted to note that your WordPress.com site has the free address http://stephenshiell.wordpress.com (rather than http://www.stephenshiell.wordpress.co.uk ). If you’d like, you can set your custom domain to be the primary domain — the one that appears in your browser’s address bar when visiting your blog — by changing your primary domain under Store > Domains in your dashboard.
