I want to take back control of a domain I have mapped to wordpress
-
I attached a domain to a wordpress blog a year ago and I want to pull it back off of wordpress to build out my own site. I have tried to see where its mapped but for whatever reason I can’t seem to get to ‘my sites’…
The domain is timeoutfornow.com
My host is NOT mapped to the wordpress nameservers so not sure how this is actually working. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Your domain timeoutfornow.com is pointed to a hosting account at Bluehost with WordPress.org software installed to the servers. It is not using WordPress.com hosting. You can manage the domain DNS at GoDaddy.
This is a great page about the differences between WordPress and WordPress.com hosting:

Ok… thanks.
Actually I point the domain nameservers at bluehost… apparently I did some sort of installation on bluehost. I am assuming (now that I have exported all of my data from the wordpress site) that I can just blow away the wordpress directory structure under my domain in file manager and rebuild out my new site tree…
I did this a year ago when I was trying to learn how to leverage wordpress for a side project… just couldn’t figure out how I got myself into this situation but now it totally makes sense… its running from bluehost… but using wordpress structure that was built in the site tree to allow me to manage the site using wordpress architecture and theming.
Thanks again.
