I want to transfer a recently expired domain

  Hi,

  I want to transfer my recently expired domain name to another host, i ve began the process there and there system says the process is pending, do i still need authorisation codes from you even though it recently expired?

  The expired domain is sunnahmuakada.com

  Hi!

  It looks like your recently cancelled the domain sunnahmuakada.com from your account. The domain expired on 12/29/14. When a domain is that far past expiration, you will not be able to transfer the domain. The best option here would likely be to wait until the domain becomes available again for normal registration (4-6 weeks normally). Alternatively, I can try to restore the domain to your account. Please note, if we go that route, you will need to pay the $80 fee charged to us by the registrar to restore the domain from expiration.

  Hi,

  Thanks for the reply, i hadn’t realised it’s been that long, I’ve been working on a book and got buried in the research.

  Is there a way i can speed up the process of returning it to the registry since i was the previous owner and don’t wish to renew it?

  Hi!

  Since the domain was cancelled from WordPress.com, I’m afraid we will not be able to restore it to your account. You will need to wait for it to become available again for registration. Unfortunately, this process is entirely in the hands of the registrar (no way to speed it up). Sorry I couldn’t be more help!
