I want to transfer my wordpress account from a US to a UK based one?

    I recently asks the question about how to go about changing a credit card payment for renewal of my wordpress account. I opened the account when i lived in the US and now live in the UK. I no longer have a US credit card to use for renewal and wanted to pay in GBP not USD. I was advised to just delete my old card and put in details of my new UK card.

    When the transaction went through and my account was renewed for another year, I was charged for a non sterling transaction fee by my bank.

    This surely can’t be the case with ‘ALL’ people who have an account with wordpress who live in the UK.

    How do I go about changing my account from a US based one to a UK based one so I will not be charged this fee in future?

    Hi Jack,

    Some banks do charge fees because we are an American company. However, we’re still working on getting everything working smoothly for multiple currencies. Because of this, I’ve gone ahead and refunded your renewal and it’s on us for this year. :)

    Another way around this would be to use PayPal Direct.
