I want to transfer subscribers

    How do I transfer subscribers from an old WordPress site to the new address I created for the blog? They are being directed, I believe, to the old one, and any clicks on comments I make are going to the old address/profile.

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi @philoctetesbow,
    You will require assistance from the staff to move subscribers between wordpress.com accounts. So, i am tagging this question with the modlook tag so that it gets the staff attention.     Thank you. I also basically just want not to delink/decommission (delete?) the one site address and use the new site address. But I also don’t want my username comments on other people’s sites to be deleted if I delete the original account to which those comments are apparently still linked.

    I thought that changing the site address would transfer everything, but apparently it has not.

    Hi there

    Did you create a new site and then manually moved over your content? It would have been simpler to just change the address of the existing site, then everything would have been moved over automatically.

    I can move the followers over to the new site for you, and stats as well if you want, but to do that I’ll need to know the URLs for both the old and new sites, please.

    I am new. I created a blog with website philoctetessite.wordpress.com. I tried to change the address to philoctetesbow.wordpress.com. I did that, but I didn’t remove the old address apparently. That is the one I want primary and want all old subscriber, etc., data migrated to: philoctetesbow.wordpress.com. . I also would like my previous comments made on other people’s blogs to be referred/linked to the new address: philoctetesbow.wordpress.com. (It is still going to the other one, even though I changed the primary account info.)

    So again, I changed the address, but didn’t kill the original address, and so things are confused. Can you still help?

    old address: philoctetessite.wordpress.com

    NEW address: philoctetesbow.wordpress.com

    Hi there,

    Thanks for the links. I’ve run our migrate tool so any followers have now been moved over to your new site.

    data migrated to: philoctetesbow.wordpress.com

    The content from philoctetessite.wordpress.com will need to be moved to philoctetesbow.wordpress.com manually. As there are only a couple of pages I’d recommend copying and pasting the content into your new site.

    I also would like my previous comments made on other people’s blogs to be referred/linked to the new address:

    I can see you’ve set philoctetesbow.wordpress.com as your primary blog — this blog is now linked to your username and will appear in comments.

    So again, I changed the address, but didn’t kill the original address, and so things are confused.

    Once you have copied the content over and you are sure you no longer need the old site, you can delete it. Let me know when you have your new site as you want it and I’ll send you some instructions.

    I have the new site as I would like it. You said that you would kindly then send me some additional links.

    Last, I have not yet deleted the old site, but I will do that shortly. My previous comments are still linking to the old site. Once I delete the old site, and since I have set the new site as primary, will the old comments then properly link to the new blog site? Or is that just something that cannot be corrected?

    Good to hear! You can now delete philoctetessite.wordpress.com using these instructions:

    Delete a Website

    Be sure to switch to the site you want to delete in My Sites at the top. Deleting a site is permanent and you won’t be able to reuse the WordPress.com address again — so only delete it if you won’t need it again :)

    My previous comments are still linking to the old site.

    All future comments will point to your new site, but it’s not possible to update older comments. This would have been possible if the site had been renamed, but you have two separate sites in your account.

    Let me know how you get on with deleting your old site.
