I want to turn "Registration Private" off so I can transfer a domain

  I want to turn “Registration Private” off so I can transfer a domain off wordpress.com. On the “My Upgrades” screen it says nothing about a private WHOIS and thus I thought it was turned off. On my domain manager though it says “Privacy: on” and then I click “Manage” just to the right of that and nothing happens. I know I need to turn privacy off to transfer the domain name to another registrar. I clicked the send authorization code by email and did receive the email but when I was trying to transfer the domain to the other registrar, the other registrar (GoDaddy) is giving and “error: Privacy Enabled” message. Thanks for any help!
