I want to upload a website I created on Adobe Muse. Can you do that?

  I have found it difficult to create a website with WordPress. I am proficient with Adobe Muse, and would like to upload my website to wordpress the be hosted there. Is that possible?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi johnmarcolin,

  To the best of my knowledge this isn’t something you’re going to be able to do.

  WordPress works with themes as your starting point for your site. You can choose from one of the many themes available on WordPress.com and then add your content to it. http://theme.wordpress.com/

  Most themes offer some customization built in, but if you require more you can purchase the Custom Design upgrade and add your own CSS code to customize the look of the theme even more.

  You don’t have the ability to modify the underlying HTML of the theme though.

  Changing any tool involves a learning curve but where you already have experience publishing a site with one tool it shouldn’t be to steep a curve to learn WordPress.com if you are interested. A great starting resource can be found at http://learn.wordpress.com/

  Thanks for your response. I am very pressed for time and cannot transfer everything to WordPress format. Therefore, please provide direction for moving my web address to another hosting service, as well as steps for getting refunded the yearly subscription price. I just renewed in late August, so hopefully there is some pro-rating.

  Hi John,

  I understand. This is probably the best resource. It describes two options for moving your domain to another host. http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/move-domain/

  You can either keep the domain registered with WordPress.com and change the name servers to point to another host, or you can transfer the whole domain to another host.

  What subscription service did you purchase? Was it more than just the domain name?

  If you log into your Dashboard go to Store and then My Upgrades you may be able to get a refund right from there.

  Thanks, I will check it out. I purchased the domain name: jmalandscapearchitecture.com for $26 a year. That gave me a basic website or blog with the name above.

  I will look a the dashboard. Thanks again.

  Hi, went to the domains section and asked them to send a transfer code to my e-mail address but nothing ever came. checked my spam folder and still nothing. Checked to see that the e-mail address is correct, and it it is. What’s up?

  OK, I have tried e-mailing at least 4 times, the domain is now unlocked and private registration has been disabled…… still waiting for the e-mail with the transfer code.
