I want to use another name server, or at least move my blog to another server

Hi, I’ve bought my domain name and hosting from wordpress.com but I want to move my blog to another server, so I need to change the dns records for my domain name.
I couldn’t find any information on how to do so, wordpress says ‘it reserves control over the records that make your blog work, so you don’t have to worry about accidentally breaking it’. does that mean that I can’t forward my main domain to anywhere else?

No it means that is you wish to transfer a domain name to another registrar you have to follow ICANN protocol. Note: You may not transfer a domain name within 60 days of purchase or for 60 days after any contact information is changed. This is standard across all registrars. It is a rule set by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN).
