I want to use my old URL

  Hi,

  Changed my url to stephsminddoodles… from sjofnovor… but I would now like to change it back. I didn’t delete it and I purchased a redirect.

  Is this possible?

  Hi Steph,

  If you’d like to go back to using your blog address sjofnovor.wordpress.com, you can disable the site redirect under Store > My Domains in that blog’s dashboard. On that page, set your regular address sjofnovor.wordpress.com as the primary domain, and it will turn off the site redirect.

  Then, you can go back to using that blog as usual. There isn’t a way to change your other blog’s address back to that one (since now they are two separate blogs), but if you’d like you can Export the contents of stephsminddoodles.wordpress.com and Import them into sjofnovor.wordpress.com.

  Thank Rachel, would it be possible to use my redirect to direct my new address back to my old address? Or should I just cancel it completely?

  Hi Steph,

  Sure thing! You can transfer the site redirect upgrade to your new blog, and have it redirect visitors to your old blog.

  To do that, you can go to Store > My Upgrades in the old blog’s dashboard (the blog that currently has the site redirect). Next to the site redirect, you can use the “Transfer to another site” link to move it to your other blog. We have more about that here: My Upgrades: Transferring Upgrades

  Then, you can go to Store > My Domains in the other blog to change the address the site redirect points to.

  Fantastic! One last question. When I exported my blog and imported it back into my original blog all the likes disappeared. Is there any way to get them back? Thanks!

  Hi Steph,

  No, unfortunately likes can’t be transferred when you export/import the blog’s content. That’s on our developers’ radar, but we don’t have a way to move them at this point.

  That said, I’m guessing you’ll get quite a few new likes on your blog posts from here on out! :)
