I want to use the "Able" theme on a temporary child blog.
-
I have the upgrade package on my blog (sparkanthology.org) allowing me to do customizations and have my own domain name. I need to create a temporary child blog at <subdomain>.sparkanthology.org, hosted off WordPress.com so that I can install a widget that requires JavaScript.*
Obviously I want the look and feel to be seamless as visitors move between the main and child sites. However, on the other WordPress blog, I don’t seem to be able to install the Able theme—which my WordPress.com site uses.
How can I install the GPL-licensed Able theme on my temporary WordPress blog? If it’s not possible, how can I get the look & feel as close as possible between the two sites?
* I can manage the DNS entries, etc., to direct traffic appropriately; I am just looking for help regarding the Able theme. Thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Themes that are coded to run on WordPress.com multiuser software cannot be run on local installs of WordPress.org software.

Thanks for the clarification! I thought it was a “theme availability” issue, and didn’t realize it was a coding issue.
So … what are my [easy] options? I’m not getting rid of my WordPress.com site any time soon, and will continue to pay for the upgrade bundle; I would just like to make sure that my WordPress.org site looks the same for its short lifetime.
