I wanted to change my subscription and ended up loosing my domain

    I cancelled my Personal plan and ended up getting a Premium plan thanks to a coupon I received. I was thinking on moving to the .org site but after the email I changed my mind (I received it AFTER I had cancelled the account, alas!). Is there a way to relink my account to the older domain?

    Hi there,

    Are you considering using your domain again on your WordPress.com site, or do you have plans to use it on a different platform?

    If you’d like to keep it here on WordPress.com, I can send you a link to pay for the domain only, and then I’ll get it restored for you. Just remember that, in this case, it will only redirect to your free WordPress.com address. To make the domain the primary address people see when they visit your site, you’ll need to upgrade to one of our plans.

    Now, if you’d rather use it somewhere else and don’t mind waiting a few days, your domain should become available again by early next week. Then, you’ll be able to register it directly with the provider where you want to use it. If you don’t want to wait, I can still restore it manually for you, as mentioned above, and then help you point it to the other provider.

    Just let me know what works best for you.

    Sure thing. If it helps, these are the options at this point, since the domain was cancelled while it was brand new:

    Wait: You can wait about five days for the domain to be released. So long as no one else buys it before you do, you can purchase it again here or with another provider.

    Repurchase the Domain: We can send an invoice for the domain. Once it’s restored, it will redirect to your free site, or you can point it to another host and transfer after 60 days.

    Purchase an Annual Plan: To host your site here after all, buy an annual plan, skip the domain option, then update us here. The plan comes with a free domain credit for the first year, so you won’t need to buy the domain again. We’ll just restore it.

    If you decide to just wait it out, check it every day and it’ll typically be released within about ~5 days for a .com domain, then you can reregister it so long as no one else gets to it first. And if you want one of the other options, just let us know. Cheers!
