I was Charged Thrice for Domain Mapping

    I have added my own domain on my WP account and paid for domain mapping.

    On the first 2 attempts on the transaction, I was prompted for errors (I cannot remember what those were) BUT both said that the transaction with my card cannot be complete. Every time I got the prompt, I had to re-enter my card details again.

    I did re-enter my details thrice. It got through the third time. Late that night, however, I cancelled the mapping, for this you owe me a 13USD refund within 8 days at most. These 2 transactions, obviously appeared on my WP account’s billing log.

    HOWEVER, when I checked my bank account I saw that I was charged thrice for domain mapping. This means the first couple of attempts actually went through even when I got error prompts.

    However, I did not receive any notification via email regarding these other 2 charges. Also, these did not appear on my accounts billing log.

    At this point, WP owes me $39.00 instead of just $13.00.

    For now, I would like to know when I will be refunded for all $39. The payment was made via my Visa Debit Card.

  • Hi there, on our end I see the following:

    – 2 failed transactions
    – 1 successful transaction for $13
    – 1 $13 refund of the sole successful transaction. It can take 1-2 weeks for a refund to be reflected on your account.

    I will ask our e-commerce team to investigate further and will get back to you, since I don’t see any transactions still available to be refunded. Thanks for your patience.

    Thank you for your reply!

    I am suspecting that what you see is a reflection on what is on my current billing history in my WP account. I can send your e-commerce team a copy of my bank’s accounts (last 10 transaction) summary for their reference if that would be needed.

    Please understand that Php577.00 already a very considerable amount for me, let alone Php1154.00. So I really need these settled.

  • Hi there – just wanted to let you know that I’ve contacted our payment processor to ask them to investigate on their end. I’ll keep you posted here.

  • Hi there, our payment processor confirmed that there was only one transaction on your card that actually went through, and it was already refunded. You may want to contact your VISA debit card provider to find out why your account statement is misleading.

    Customer only paid once and you refunded that transaction. Customer had a bank decline and another transaction that authorized, but did not complete. There is no other transaction on this buyer account to WordPress.

    Please let me know if I can do anything else.

    I see that the WP domain mapping fund has already been refunded but not the other 2 first transactions. Thank you for your assistance. I will get in touch with my provider and get back to you. Thank you.

  • That’s right – only one refund could be issued because the other two transactions did not complete.
