i was thinking of creating my website here but, i do not know if I have the knowledge to do that
-
Hello, I have had a hard time with my domain provider, they pretty much transferred my domains and cancelled their accreditation with ICANN and now my domains are some place that I do not want them to be. Furthermore, my hosting provider for my website, will not accept inbound domains anymore and this infuriates me so I wanna stop paying them and find another place to have my website. I do not think I can easily get that done here or can I? Please advise.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi dfwtaxigirl,
If you want to start fresh with WordPress.com, it’d be a great way to avoid the mess you’ve been dealing with regarding your domains.
You can start reading here regarding how to get a domain setup on your new WordPress.com-hosted site:
Let us know if you have any further questions!

Hi dfwtaxigirl,
now my domains are some place that I do not want them to be
What is the URL of your current site? And do you wish to use the domain here on WordPress.com? If you let me know, I’ll be happy to give you some advice on setting up a site here :)

Hi thank you for responding. I have a few domains but, the one that has the website is butterflytaxidfw.com. I have the .net also. But, i will be transferring my domains all of them to a new provider. The reason i wanted to move them anyway is because i do not want them being with pdr. also, i keep running google page test and my mobile site takes 9 sec to load. I have been looking at google amp but i am not a code writer.

Hi dfwtaxigirl,
I have a few domains but, the one that has the website is butterflytaxidfw.com. I have the .net also.
Your existing domains can be connected to your WordPress.com site with domain mapping:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/map-existing-domain/
Each paid plan includes one domain credit which can be used to map a domain you already own (or register a new one). Any additional domains can then be mapped to the same site for $13 each.
But, i will be transferring my domains all of them to a new provider.
That’s okay. Your domains can be mapped and then transferred to a new registrar when you are ready :) The WordPress.com name servers should carry across to your new registrar.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

let me make sure we are talking about the same thing. Until March of this year, my domains were with Active-Domain, which if i am not mistaking is Soft Layer, a company in Dallas. My domains have been pointing to Webs.com nameservers. But, Active Domain cancelled their accrediation with ICANN and move my domains to the Netherlands or wherever they went. So now, my website takes much longer to load. To top that off, Public Domain Registry charges $35 per year per domain..I contacted ICANN when I noticed thaty domaina were moved to PDR without my knowledge. I do not see how this could happen. ICANN came back and said that they approved the transfer of my domains to PDR. I did not have a sayso where they went or anything. You probably already understand this part of what I am trying to say.
The next part is that my business already has a website with WEBS that i created using their drag and drop. I have a PRO plan because I wanted to be able to write in some HTML. code. But webs does not support browset cache, they do not minify or compress, their themes are outdated and they do not put expiration dates on some code, that is required and they do not ever improve the software behind the drag and drop builder. And the worst thing is that I cannot tranfer my website from them and I cannot transfer my domains to them so that when Google crawls for search terms related to my website, the spiders do not have to be redirected to the netherlands or whereever the heck my domains are now and back to antiquated Webs to finally materialize on someones mobile device.
So, when you say mapping, do you mean transferring the domains to wordpress servers or do you mean just pointing them to wordpress nameservers because I do that now and that is not what I want to do.
Also, i want to keep the name of my business and So i need to create another website offline with the same domain name so that when i am finished, I can delete my website from webs, close my acct with them and being my website back up with wordpress. I do have a wordpress blog but thst is completely different from having a website. I do not know if I have the knowledge to create a websitr using wordpress and now I do not have as much time as what i had before to learn it.
Apologize for the length of the reply and thank you again for your help

Hi dfwtaxigirl,
So, when you say mapping, do you mean transferring the domains to wordpress servers or do you mean just pointing them to wordpress nameservers
We don’t currently accept incoming domain transfers so domain mapping is the only way to use a domain you already own, on your WordPress.com site. The domains can be transferred to any registrar of your choice and then mapped here:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/map-existing-domain/
I can delete my website from webs, close my acct with them and being my website back up with wordpress.
We don’t recommend deleting your current site until your content has been imported into WordPress.com. When you import an .xml file, the import tool references URLs on your existing site. If it is unable to reach those URLs, this can create issues with the import.
This guide to Imports has more information about the process:
I do have a wordpress blog but thst is completely different from having a website.
Whether your site looks more like a blog of a website largely depends on the theme you choose. Blogs are largely post based content, whereas websites are largely page based. I’d reccomend looking through our Theme Showcase and looking at some of the theme demo sites. They will give you a feel for what you new site could look like:
I have a PRO plan because I wanted to be able to write in some HTML. code.
While HTML is supported on WordPress.com, there are some code formats we don’t allow for security reasons:
It’s just something to bear in mind if you did want to use certain types of code on your site.
I hope this helps but do let me know if you need to know anything else.

Thank you again and i am sorry for being a nuisance. My website was created with webs.com drag and drop. therefore i cannot transfer it to another provider. i do mot access to the xml file. The problem is with webs is that they do not keep there software up to date and it lags behind every changing technology so my site lags in search results because of the lack of their back end housekeeping. But. i know that wordpress is google friendly and also has plug in for AMP. so i woukd have to create website from line 1…
However since ICANN is no longer policeing the internet my current domain that was purchased on Active-domain got moved to Publicdomainregistry. and since noone is holding any providers accountable anymore for what is done with domains, they will not even respond to my request to transfer it away from them..I am sorry to learn that WordPress will not accept outside domains..

Hi dfwtaxigirl,
i do mot access to the xml file.
I had a look at webs.com and they don’t appear to offer the option to export content to .xml. You may want to contact them to see if they are able to help. If not, the content will need to be copied over to WordPress.com manually.

Does the site have an RSS feed? If it does then that may be a a way of getting the content from it.

You’re welcome dfwtaxigirl. Are you able to check if your site has an RSS feed?
