I wish to add details such as song lists, current books reading, etc in my sidebar. How do i do it?

There are co widgets available for publishing details like these along with blog posts.

Most of those can be done with a Text widget.
Text widgets can use HTML, so you can create a formatted list following this guide: http://www.w3schools.com/html/html_lists.asp
