I appear to have lost the orignal formating when typing an article. I cannot include a link or video. I went in and deleted a page that held a number of links and still it is not working.

Hi macmanx, I have been trying to post You tube video’s over the past while and they simply are not showing up in the post. I have tried both the long embedded code and the shorten version.
I have also been trying to link so the reader can go to the another page. This also is not working.

YouTube’s embed code won’t work here. We have our system of embedding YouTube videos, which is actually quite a bit easier. Just paste the URL into your post.

The link is still not working. Instead of appearing in the body of the article it will show up as script at the beginning of the article after highlightening the whole article. To go to the preview of the page it does not show up.
The spell check will show the word that needs to be corrected, yet when I go to change it, a message comes up and asks me if I am sure I want to leave the page.
Any suggestions on these.

When you create a link, are you just selecting the word you want to link before pressing the link button? Can you send me a link to a post displaying the problem.
I’ve never heard of that particular spell check problem before, unless of course it’s finding a problem with a word in the link. If that is the case, it could be acting as if you had clicked the link.

This is the link I wanted to put in a post https://www.bit.ly/Japansradiation.
When I highlighted the https:// and then hit link, the whole page of words highlighted that included the whole
article of words. The link then shows up at the beginning of the article.
I erased the link info at the beginning of the article and then wanted to spell check. It does pick out the words to
correct, yet will not let me correct them.

I don’t see any trace of that link in your post.
Are you sure that you’re following this guide to create a link?

It looks like you had selected to apply the link to the enter post, not the specific word.
If you had selected (highlighted) just the specific word before clicking the link button (as outlines in the video), which browser (and version of) are you using?

Hi Macmanx – This is what I have been trying to articulate, perhaps not well, is that when I highlight the one word and hit link it automatically highlights the whole post. I am not physically highlighting the whole post myself. It happens after I hit the link button.
Currently I have been using both Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer.

I just tested this in those browsers and the link tool was working normally for me. Could you try clearing your cache and cookies to see if that sorts it out?
If that doesn’t work can you let me know what version of each browser you are using? Thanks!

Hi, I have now gone onto a different computer and still having the same difficulty. When I link, I highlight the piece in the body of the message and connect to the link button. The highlighted area changes to the whole content and the link address shows up at the beginning of the message.
How can I find out what is causing this? How could it be cookies on both computers, this one is new, never been used?

When you say ” I highlight the piece in the body of the message and connect to the link button” do you mean that you highlight the words you want to put the link on, then you drag them to the link button, or that you just click on the link button?
