Can I move where my custom domain name points?
-
To Whom It May Concern,
I have been using WordPress services and purchased a domain name: littlecitybig.com
I no longer want to use WordPress services and have created a site at squarespace instead.
I now want my domain “littlecitybig.com” to be mapped on my squarespace.com account and also direct to the pages that are located there.
I understand that you suggest an ‘upgrade’ to have the domain redirect off of WordPress’ site, but will this ‘upgrade’ allow for mapping on a different site (such as squarespace)? I have already ‘upgraded’ a few times with WordPress and haven’t been to pleased so I’d rather have the full story before I ‘upgrade’ again.
Is there any way to redirect my domain and have it mapped on a different site (such as squarespace) without ‘upgrading’?
Thanks for your support.
Best,
Marshall

There is a way to change where your domain name points without upgrading again. Usually this is done by changing the name servers but some services require an A record change.
Did Squarespace give you any specifics about what needed to be changed on the domain name for it to work there?
If you can let me know the details I’ll be happy to get it all set up for you. Thanks!
