I would like to add a domain that I just got a refund for yesterday

  I registered a domain improperly yesterday and recieved a refund now I would like to use the domain properly. I was wanting to map the domain: SusanWellsArt.com to my current blog: SusanWellsSculpture.com. I registered the name independently of my blog SusanWellsSculpture.com and then realized I should have registered the name through my blog. I got the refund and feel sure that there are not a million SusanWells’ trying for that url. It seems like the url is caught up in the wordpress system. Is there a way I can use it now?

  Hi there,

  I’m sorry to hear about this chaos! Sadly when domains get cancelled the don’t immediately get re-released for purchase. They get sent back to the domain registry (in the case of .coms, that is Verisign), who holds on to them for a few days before re-releasing them. It’s an effort to prevent something called “domain sampling.”

  If you hold on for a few days, you’ll be able to repurchase the domain here with us or with any other domain registrar, but unfortunately you will have to wait for a few days. Sorry for the inconvenience!
