I would like to add shortcode to my website

I’m unsure on how to add it. I received an email from Google+ stating that I need to add shortcode to my homepage so that my blog will show up more often in searches. I have the code but I’m not sure how to add it.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

If not, can you give me some more information about the email you received? Copying and pasting or uploading a screenshot to your Media Library would be very helpful.

I have figured out where that goes. However where can I get the code to verify our page for Google and the others??

The direct link you can do anywhere on your site. I would suggest using a Text widget:
