I would like to build a online-only retail store and need customized order template

I’d like to start an online-only retail store that sells custom made dolls. The dolls have a substantial amount of accessories and design elements and I need to be able to list them in a way that makes it very clear and easy to a customer. I also need to make sure that each selection is reflected in a preview menu. Picture a car on screen, you change the color in a list, and the car changes color. Picture a change in wheel design, and the wheels change while the selected color remains the same. Do you have something like this?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

With WooCommerce it is possible to have variable products with as many customizations as you like. Each product variation can have a unique image that will be shown when the variables are selected to match that variation.

This can be done by creating a variable product, adding attributes, and then adding the image for each variation of the product.

Check out this link for detailed instruction on how this can be done:
    https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/variable-product/

You will need a in order to use WooCommerence on WordPress.com.

I’ll have another look. I was having problems getting WooCommerce to work initially.

my last line was supposed to be:

You will need a business plan and attach a domain to your site (included in the upgraded plan) to use WooCommerence on WordPress.com.

I can’t get the attributes to work properly. All it does is show up as text. Not a drop down menu with an image or even text. It just shows up below the main product image.

I need something similar to this:
    https://www.rushordertees.com/design-t-shirts/

If you click on design, you have options to make changes and you SEE the changes take place. You also have the ability to select photos, which if selected are then previewed in the window.

Do you know how to achieve something very similar to this?

It is not letting me post a response. This is a test.

    Finally, I’ll try this again.

I can’t get the attributes to work properly. All it does is show up as text. Not a drop down menu with an image or even text. It just shows up below the main product image.

I need something similar to this:
rushordertees com, custom build a T to take a look. I think my message is being censored with the link.

If you click on design, you have options to make changes and you SEE the changes take place. You also have the ability to select photos, which if selected are then previewed in the window.

Can you send a link to a product page where the attributes are not working properly?

I notice the URL you originally sent is not the store that you are asking about.

I don’t have the website actually set up. I was doing all this with a test on my own computer (turned my computer into a hosting machine). The Tshirt site I posted has the customization design that I’m trying to achieve. I can’t come anywhere close to that.

Without seeing the problem it is hard to know exactly what is happening.

Setting up variable products can be a bit challenging as you need to make the selections in the right order (choosing a variable product type, adding attributes with the | symbol separating attributes, and then adding variations where you must have an image for each variation). But without seeing your site I’m not sure if it is this that you are stuck on or just that you do not like the functionality of how WooCommerence displays variable products.

There are many plugins for WooCommerence that change the display behavior for variable products. I have not tried any of these but a plugin may be the solution you are looking for.

Here is one of many articles that show some plugin options that may help: https://www.narga.net/best-improve-woocommerce-product-variations-plugins/

Also, I assume you plan to host your site with WordPress.com, since you are on the WordPress.com forum, so I do want to mention that when you upgrade to the business plan (which is needed for a store on WordPress.com) you will have access to great support for free form staff.

The WooCommerence forum may help as well.
