I would like to keep my domain but cancle the private part.

    How can I cancel the private registration without cancelling my domain renewal subscription?
    There seems to be no option on edit my purchase for the renewal. All it says upon clicking on the “cancel private registration” is that I will be refunded upon cancelling my domain. I do not want to cancel my domain, I simply want to remove the private portion. I would like to keep my domain, but I do not want to be charge an extra eight dollars for a feature I do not use.

    Hi Amanda,

    You can use the “Cancel Private Registration” link (under Store > My Upgrades in your dashboard), and it will only cancel your private registration (not the domain itself).

    On the confirmation page, you may see a message that says, “You will receive a refund when the upgrade is cancelled.” This refers to the Private Registration upgrade, not the whole domain. Sorry if that was confusing!

    If you’d prefer, I can cancel your domain’s private registration for you and issue you a refund. If you want me to do that, just reply here to confirm. :)

    Hey Rachel, I just cancelled the private registration, and it has deleted it for when I renew in the next year. I just got your message now, and I was about to expire in a day, so I bit the bullet and renewed the subscription with the private registration. For some reason when I tried to cancel the private setting just as you said, it wouldn’t work. Is there anyway I can still get a refund for it? If you could do that I’d appreciate it! Thanks for your help and getting back to me :).

    Hi Amanda, I just checked your account and you successfully cancelled the private registration. We also issued the refund for it, so you should be all set! It may take about a week for the refund to appear on your statement.
