I would like to know what the situation is please with regard to buttons on the

    Hi

    I wanted to provide a better alternative to Facebook and Pinterest on my blog endtrophyhuntingnow.com.

    I am preparing more than 1,000 pictures to go on there for sharing, but it was very disappointing to discover that there is no possibility of having share buttons on media in the carousel, even with CSS.

    Is there any possibility at all that this option can be added and this will be remedied in the future, near or far?

    I would have thought it would be very important to remedy this as soon as possible to keep up with the competition?

    (1) If it is planned, when that would be likely to be?

    (2) Also would you please let me know whether it is actually possible, or not possible. If impossible, will it stay that way, or is it impossible now but possible in the future.

    I do need to know the answer to all the questions to enable me to assess what to do and would be grateful if you would address all questions in this email to save me writing again.

    Hi Alice,

    By submitting this to our Staff Answers queue, the question and answer are public, but only Staff and yourself are able to post to the thread.

    I don’t have a timeline for this. We’re still considering what would be the best approach to take with this and if it is feasible at all. (Should it link to the photo’s particular attachment page, the page that the image was inserted into, etc).

    In short, I would suggest you make your current decision based on it not being implemented since I can’t give you a definitive answer.

    I am not sure that we don’t have crossed lines.

    When I say share button, I only mean the same share button that is on posts, the same button where we have an option to turn it on or off for media.

    It does not appear in the carousel pics and that is what I am enquiring about here.

    Please confirm that we are talking about the same thing as I don’t understand the reference to should it link to the photo’s particular attachment page, the page that the image was inserted into, etc.

    I am referring only to the image itself. So that when a person is looking through images on the carousel, they can say oh great I’ll send that to so and so on Facebook/pin it on Pinterest, etc. just as one can on the posts or media otherwise.

    Really, unless there is a specific reason why not, surely it ought to already be on there?

    Thanks for the clarification. A bit different, but I’m afraid I don’t have a timeline on that particular item either.

    I’ve just checked and there is already a comment button and a reblog button, so surely it wouldn’t be difficult to add a Facebook, Pinterest and other share buttons.
