I would like to put my OWN images on this blog

I can’t figure wordpress out. Your help options seem to take me in circles. I asked this question last night but the answer was way over my head.
I don’t know the difference between cache, cookies, https, http, or browsing customized IE7/IE9. I don’t even know what those things are.
I want a blog that will have MY writing, and MY pictures on it. Where can I go to make that happen?
How can I make that happen?
And if someone decides to respond please be nice! I don’t understand tech speak, so I need some step by step assistance from someone who can patiently walk me through picking a theme that will allow me to customize to include what I want.I don’t even know if this will post, since it wants a blog url and the one it defaults to isn’t my blog’s name. I have no clue what I need to do here!
My welcome email said user friendly. So far that hasn’t been my experience.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The first question to address is what is the url of the site you want to work on?
I don’t even know if this will post, since it wants a blog url and the one it defaults to isn’t my blog’s name. I have no clue what I need to do here!
I can see this is linked to your username but it is not an existing blog:
“isabellaemilymark.wordpress.com doesn’t exist
Do you want to register isabellaemilymark.wordpress.com?”Is that the site you want to use? Instead of writermark2547.wordpress.com ?

Here is the support document about adding your own pictures to a blog:

One other thing is that I see you are a 3 day old user of wordpress.com so I’ll suggest that you take a little time to work through this useful tutorial to acclimate yourself to this platform:
http://learn.wordpress.com/Yes, there are a lot of new words and jargon as well as procedures that are unfamiliar to a newcomer, but if you are patient and willing to study / experiment / practice for a little while you will be rewarded with a very useful way to express yourself.
By the way, there is also this lexicon to define some terms that may be unfamiliar:

Yes I want it to be isabellaemilymark.wordpress.com . I have gotten a handful of emails at my gmail saying that if I confirm that it will become isabellaemilymark.wordpress.com .
However it remains writermark2547.
I’ve read how to load images to a blog. What I need to know is WHY they won’t load. They’re the right format. They’re the right size. They just will not appear.
The tutorial would be useful if the features highlighted worked the way it says they do. They don’t. Not matter how many times I follow the step by step directions, my blog continues to look and behave the same. None of the changes are ever implemented.
I’m not completely computer dense; I maintained my own website for quite a while, and have used blogger successfully. The problem is that wordpress simply remains as it is, not matter how many times I attempt to change templates, formats, fonts, etc.
A perfect example is the url. I’ve attempted to change that over and over and over. It remains writermark2547.
Is it a subscription issue? I’ve been assured that’s not the case, but I seriously have my doubts. With the number of prompts I get asking me to upgrade to premium, I’ve begun to wonder if maybe the free version is what’s got me stumped since it’s not capable of adding images to blogs or any of my pictures or anything.

I took the steps in the latest confirmation email. Instead of changing my url, it CREATED A NEW BLOG. Now I have two instead of one.
Is it possible to have just one, or do I have to create a new blog everytime I change email addresses? What happens to my old entries? It’s not pressing, as I have yet to upload anything that I NEED, since I’m reluctant to commit to wordpress if it’s not going to be useable. But shouldn’t changing my email address be easy?
I think this is the problem, for whatever reason, wordpress keeps things the way they were when I signed up instead of accepting any changes I try to make.
I’ve seen the tutorial over and over and over. I need step by step directions for when the tutorial doesn’t work.

I strongly suggest you do not attempt to customize any theme until you are comfortable with the basic blogging functions. Customization has to be done by editing CSS code, and that’s waaaaaay out of range for you at the moment.
On http://writermark2547.wordpress.com/ go to the Dashboard page and under Settings->Reading, set it to Private. Then ignore it except for when you want a blog to test out widgets, codes, or new themes. It’s handy in the long run to have a private, spare blog. If you want the content out of it, go to the dashboard Tools page and click Export. Then on the dashboard of the blog you want those posts, click Import on the tools page.
Changing your email, username, blog address are all NOT easy at WP.com because all of your security and identity are tied to those three things.
-
So how do I get comfortable with basic blogging functions if I’m not using my blog?
I have no desire to customize any theme or to edit any code.
What I want is simply this:
To write a blog and add an image to it.
To add an image of me to my profile page.
To be able to blog in a font other than the default font.
To change the color of the blog from gray to almost ANYthing else.I would think doing these things would be pretty basic. I shouldn’t have to know how to edit code in order to do them.
Or is knowing how to edit code a necessity? Because if it is I’m in waaaaaaaaaaaaaay over my head at WordPress.
You’re saying that changing my blog’s username is NOT easy because of security, and WordPress is telling me that it’s easy.
I maintained a personal website for years for a home business without having to edit code. A simple blog shouldn’t be harder than that. harder than that

What I want is simply this:
To write a blog and add an image to it.
To add an image of me to my profile page.
To be able to blog in a font other than the default font.
To change the color of the blog from gray to almost ANYthing else. For the record, I have navigated through dashboard to figure out how to change EACH of these. The problem isn’t that I can’t find WHERE to make these changes on dashboard. The problem is that the changes don’t HAPPEN. No matter what changes I save, upon hitting refresh my blog remains gray without pictures, and anything I post is in the same font.

You said you wanted to customize the look of your blog.
Write a blog is explained at http://learn.wordpress.com. You go to the dashboard Posts page and you write a post.
If you’ve found the profile page, under Users, presumably you’ve found the upload box for your avatar.
To change the font from the default you will need, as I said, the Custom Design upgrade and the ability to code in CSS or you will have to hand-code every one of your posts in HTML directly in the text editor. Again, you’re not ready to do that.
To change the colour of the blog, ditto. You can change themes to one that has customizable colours instead, and this is highly recommended.

If you have other specific questions, you can put the topic in the search box in http://support.wordpress.com/ and find the official documents.
-
I’m changing this to resolved and I’ll try again wording it different.
I don’t need to know WHERE or HOW to do these things. I need to know WHY they’re not working.
When I click post, and my post disappears, I think the issue is somehow unrelated to my knowledge of coding.
-
You’re right, that’s a totally different, known bug. There are dozens of posts on that bug. Do not use the New Post button on the grey admin bar, for starters; the autosave doesn’t work and most of these missing post issues come down to that.
