I would like to permanently redirect from https://coloradolifestylephotography.wordpress.com/ to my new domain http://www.colorado-lifestyle-photography.com/
I do not need to move or transfer any content. I only want to direct all traffic to the new www purchased domain.

Hello,
Would you like to redirect example.wordpress.com (as well as all of your permalinks) to your new domain name? Have you recently changed your blog address and need to redirect traffic to the new name? The Site Redirect upgrade lets you do just that — and managing the redirect couldn’t be easier.
Here you can find all information you need and a detailed guide on Site Redirect:

Can you tell me exactly how that works? I read the page, but I want to understand before I purchase. Does that automatically redirect all links from coloradolifestylephotography.com to the homepage at http://www.colorado-lifestyle-photography.com? (not sharing any content but just directing to my new domain) After my 1 year subscription, would I just delete the old site so there is not duplicate content?
Will this also take care of any google SEO/address changes/analytics/etc?

Hello,
You are right, all your WordPress.com traffic will be redirected to the destination site of your choice if you purchase a Site Redirect upgrade and set it up. It means, if someone visits your old site, (s)he’ll be automatically redirected to your new one.
As Wikipedia describes URL (site) redirection:
When a web browser attempts to open a URL that has been redirected, a page with a different URL is opened.
I was not sure about what if your subscription expires so I did a quick search and found
If you choose to let your plan expire, your site will be switched to our Basic (free) plan. You will no longer have access to the features included in your plan, but your site’s content will still be available.
so it sounds OK to delete the old site then (after 1 year, after saving a backup – just in case) when the Site Redirect feature expires, to avoid duplicated content. By then, everyone will know your new domain and visit your new site. :)
Unfortunately, I do not really know the SEO / analytics aspects of redirection, I am sorry. :(
I hope it helps, anyway.
Cheers,
Gina
