I would like to switch domain management.
-
I originally had a wordpress website hosted by wordpress. I decided to move it to another host, and switch registrars for the domains . I also re-newed the domain via my new webhost, but today when I went to my url, it redirects to my old wordpress site!!! I would like to make sure this is updated ASAP! I don’t really want to keep my old wordpress site either.
Blog url: http://taslimjaffer.wordpress.com/The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

What is the domain name you want to renew?
Did you transfer the domain to another registrar? If so you will need to renew it with your new registrar.

I already renewed the domain through my new host I also did transfer the domain to a new registrar and called them about it, but they said that unfortunately wordpress still handles the domain management.
So when I logged into my old wordpress (http://taslimjaffer.wordpress.com) I keep seeing this warnings about updating my domain (www.letmeoutcreative.com) even though I already purchased it via my new host?
My goal is to delete my wordpress site http://taslimjaffer.wordpress.com and not have to login to wordpress simply to manage a domain that isn’t owned by wordpress and also isn’t the registrar of it either. Somehow wordpress still manages it??
Is it possible to change domain management to my new registrar? I don’t want to manage my domains via wordpress.

OK – the warning you are getting probably has to do with your old domain mapping renewal – once you point the name servers away from WordPress.COM (as you already have) – WordPress.COM then has nothing to do with your domain management – I will flag this for the staff to help if you want the domain mapping (which is not being used now) canceled so you don’t see the renewal notice – or you can just ignore the notice until it goes away ( make sure you have turned off the auto renew – Dashboard >> Store >> Domains (I think) )
-
Thanks for all your help!!
Yes that would be awesome if I could get this mapping cancelled!
I adjusted the DNS servers in the “Automattic” Domain Manager this morning but my site is still redirecting to http://taslimjaffer.wordpress.com. I am not sure if there is more I have to do so that my site (letmeoutcreative.com) points to the correct nameserver … not wordpress.com

http://www.letmeoutcreative.com/ loads to a WordPress.ORG install with a purple color header graphic

Wohoo!! It seems like it’s finally loading the correct site!!
So in the future, if I want to update my nameservers, do I have to do it via wordpress dashboard? How can I give my current registrar domain management capabilities?
I wanted to delete the wordpress blog since it’s an outdated version of the new one but I dont’ want to run into issues with the registrar saying that wordpress is in control of the domain management.

letmeoutcreative.com/ – is registered with Wild West Domains (part of WordPress.COM) – so you would still update name servers with the WordPress dashboard here.
You can transfer the domain name registration to another registrar if you want – but WordPress.COM is a very low cost registrar – tough to beat their prices.
You only change the name servers when you move your blog to another host so this might be the last name server change for a long time

How can I give my current registrar domain management capabilities?
Your current domain registrar for both taslimjaffer.com & letmeoutcreative.com still looks like WordPress/Wild West Domains. It also looks like both domains expired on July 11, 2012.
http://who.wildwestdomains.com/whois.aspx?domain=letmeoutcreative.com
http://who.wildwestdomains.com/whois.aspx?domain=taslimjaffer.com
If you’d like to transfer your domain to a new registrar normally you can follow these instructions:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/domain-management/#transfer-to-another-registrar
However, you mentioned above that you already transferred the domains to a new registrar – did you already follow the process above, and was the transfer confirmed? What day did the transfer go through? If you let me know who your new registrar is, I can investigate further why the domains are still showing as registered through WordPress.com. Thanks!
