I would like to transfer the domain to siteground

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hello

We initiated a transfer of domain to siteground and they said they could not transfer the domain as it is locked.

Your version of WordPress is very limiting and that is why we are moving. Why is it locked?

Please come back as soon as possible.

    Thanks
    Ron

  • I don’t see any domain names under your account here.

What is the domain name you’re trying to transfer?

  • Hi there,

From what I see here the registrar of your domain is Tucows: https://gwhois.org/Sanctuarydoor.co.uk+dns

Please reach out to them directly to see if they are able to help, since the domain is not registered with us directly there is nothing we can do on this end.

Hope this helps point you in the right direction!

We originally had it set up with you and then wanted to transfer to siteground and they say the domain is locked and unable to transfer and the domain area will not let me add a IPS TAG

  • Thanks for clarifying. I do not see any upgrades under your @revsracing118 WordPress.com account when I check on our end. You can confirm by visiting this page: https://wordpress.com/me/purchases/.

Is it possible you made your purchase under a different login? I can confirm that Sanctuarydoor.co.uk is registered at WordPress.com but is under a different account and not your revsracing118 login.

In order to be able to help you we need for this request to come from the accoun that “owns” Sanctuarydoor.co.uk in this case. If you do not recall how to log in to your other account you can fill out the form here to get assistance from our Account Recovery team: https://wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=recovery

Once you log in under the correct account please reach out to support again at https://wordpress.com/help/contact

    Thanks!

    Check and you will see

They are saying that the domain is locked and cannot be transferred

  • Hi there,

I see some conflicting information in this thread, so just to clarify:

sanctuarydoor.co.uk is registered with us on WordPress.com

sanctuarydoor.co.uk is registered under the revsracing118 account you’re using to post here.

    Sorry for the confusion earlier.

We originally had it set up with you and then wanted to transfer to siteground and they say the domain is locked and unable to transfer and the domain area will not let me add a IPS TAG

Where are you trying to add the IPS tag? That should be added on our end, not SiteGround’s.

Go to https://wordpress.com/domains/manage/sanctuarydoor.co.uk/transfer/out/sanctuarydoorcouk.wordpress.com, type in the IPS tag and submit. If that doesn’t work, please let us know, and also please confirm what the tag is that SiteGround provided to you, and that you’re trying to set.

Also please delete the screen shots you shared in this thread – the most recent one shows the last four digits of your credit card and your full name, and in the wrong hands that information can be used by someone to commit fraud. I’m removing the links to those screen shots from your replies here, but please make sure you also completely delete them from https://imgbb.com/ where you have uploaded them.

Thanks for confirming, I have done that and I am putting in TUCOWS CA and the IPS Tag is failing

Secondly we paid for the business part of the theme and paid for a full year and have now cancelled it as it did not give many options and I want to know when I can expect a refund of the difference of time that it will not be used as I am fine for you to bill me for the time it was active as that is fair

  • I am putting in TUCOWS CA and the IPS Tag is failing

Okay. The problem here is that our IPS tag is also TUCOWS CA. In other words, you’re not actually transferring the domain from one registrar to another, but between two different resellers for the same registrar. So in this case, Siteground will have to initiate the transfer from their end. The IPS-tag method from ours won’t work.

We’ve manually unlocked your domain, so SiteGround should now be able to complete the process from their end. Please make it clear to them you’re transferring the domain from another Tucows reseller, and not a registrar.

Secondly we paid for the business part of the theme and paid for a full year and have now cancelled it as it did not give many options and I want to know when I can expect a refund of the difference of time that it will not be used as I am fine for you to bill me for the time it was active as that is fair

Our refund period on our annual plans is 14 days, and we don’t offer pro-rated refunds should you cancel outside of the refund period.

But I took a look at your account and am still able to refund your Business Plan payment of £81.50. Your original Premium Plan purchase in July is no longer refundable.

You should receive the full refund in about 10 business days, depending on your bank’s processing times.
