I would like to use a wordpress address whose page has been deleted BUT…

  I would like to use a domain but it says its taken. However, when I look it up, the page says the authors deleted the site. What should I do? I am set on this title for my blogging site. How long does this site address stay as ‘taken’?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Deleted blog URLs are not recycled, regardless of who registered and deleted them and no exceptions are made. http://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/

  However, you can register another blog with a similar name. http://en.support.wordpress.com/register-a-blog/

  Or you can register a domain via a domain mapping upgrade and it will not matter what the underlying .wordpress.com address is.

  Oh ok I saw that- thanks alot! The page said you could get in contact with the person who had that site and get their permission to transfer the site name to you. However there is no info on this person’s deleted site such as a way to email them. So I’m sort of stuck.

  There is no expiration date on blogs unused or otherwise. If you can make contact on your own with the owner of an unused blog then there is a means of a consenting blog owner to transfer the blog to another username account. http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#transferring-your-blog-to-another-user-or-account

  In the case that there is no contact information Staff will not breach the privacy policy and provide you with an email address.
