iCalendar Feed missing some events

Hi, I put in the upcoming events widget on my home page (home 10), linked to my google calendar. Everything looks great except that it skips some events… I’m missing an event from April 5th, and another from April 8th. I’m also missing events from April 12, 15th and 19th… http://mantleofpower.wordpress.com/

Can you help me figure out why some of the events aren’t showing?

Were the missing events setup as recurring events by chance?
If so, there is currently a bug in the upcoming events widget that has been reported but that our developers won’t have a chance to update right away. If that bug is indeed what you’re up against, then what you can do as a temporary workaround is remove the events and then re-add them as brand new events that were never saved before as recurring events. If you insert each one individually, it should show up. If you want to give that a try and it doesn’t work for you, let me know the title of one of the missing events and I will try to take a closer look at your iCal feed URL to see if I can figure out what’s going wrong. Another possible alternate solution in the short term may be to either link to the google calendar or post the events manually in a list. I’m sorry for the trouble!

Yes they were set up as recurring events. I got around it by entering each event manually but I don’t want to have to do this every week. Can you let me know when this bug is expected to be fixed? Thanks!

I’m so sorry but there isn’t a time frame for when it can be fixed. It did get reviewed in the past, but the iCal file format—which is the type of file various different calendar programs use to display calendar data—had a lot of variations and each bug fix seemed to pop up another issue, so I can tell that it was hard to work with! What I can tell you that I did review other reports of the same problem and I did file some good examples and the recurring event issue is in the queue waiting for another review but there isn’t a set time frame for it. If recurring events is something you really need to have, I would recommend linking out to a page with an embedded calendar as a temporary workaournd while we wait for the upcoming events widget to be fixed.

Thanks for saying sorry :) Somehow that makes me feel better. If there is any way to let me know when it’s fixed that would be great. I already have a calendar embedded, so this was just an at-a-glance view. I’ll keep adding the events individually for now.
