ICANN verfication & nameservers
-
Hello, I’m trying to point the nameservers to godaddy (for a domain registered with wordpress: antoniovelardoblog.com) and like a previous poster, I get the message that I need to confirm with the ICANN email verification. I click on the link and am directed to a page saying that the email has been confirmed, but upon logging back in, wordpress still says it’s not confirmed. I can’t point the nameservers to Godaddy as it is locked on wordpress. Please advise. Thank you!

Hi Antonio!
It looks like this should be all fixed up now. The ICANN notice you’re likely seeing on the Transfer Domain tab (Dashboard -> Store -> My Domains -> Edit Domain -> Transfer Domain) is there because domains can’t be transferred within 60 days of purchase. There’s nothing you can do to remove that. It’s just a warning.
Going forward, here’s what you’ll want to do to get your domain working with GoDaddy:
- You’ll need to contact GoDaddy to get an A record for your domain. Due to our relationship with GoDaddy, changing the name servers will not work. You’ll need an A record.
- Once you have the IP Address/A record from GoDaddy, follow the instructions here:
You’ll want to make sure that the name servers stay pointed to WordPress.com.
That should get you up and running! Give that a shot and let me know if you need anything else.
